SUBURI
Suburi is shinai swinging practice, and consists of striking the
targets of an imaginary opponent of your size in front of you.
This practice is designed to develop speed, accuracy, integration
and correct form in the kendo attacking techniques.
O suburi - big swing for stretching out
Single Cutting Shomen suburi - swing to the centre of the men
Sayumen suburi - swing to the sides of the men

Kote Do Suburi
Hayasuburi - quick swing with footwork
Double (renzoku - continous) Shomen Subari - cutting men on the
forward and backward step.
Naname Suburi - Steps left then right and cutting Men
Shin-Kokyu - A deep breath slow cutting technique of suburi offering
a gradual way to cool down.
Katate suburi - one handed swing
